Thar Natural History Centre (Museum)

Museum Natural History Centre

Thar is an oasis as wide as almost 22000 km. It contains a really diversified flora and fauna. A recent research conducted by ICNA shows that there are more than one thousand species of animals and insects and more than 300 species of plants are there in Thar. It is our desire to conserve the ecosystem. For this purpose, we are planning to construct a Natural History Centre at Prem Nagar. We want to make this diverse ecosystem an opportunity for researchers and educationists. We will facilitate them to visit the museum and conduct research based studies. To conserve the ecosystem and traces of extinct species of plants and animals in Thar region, is the basic thought behind this idea. In addition to conservation of ecosystem, another important function is to conserve the rich culture, history and specific architecture of Tharparkar in the form of a museum.

In addition to all these, water supply system along with its over head water tank is already completed and functional. Broad and paved roads have enhanced mobility as well as the outlook of Prem Nagar, as a whole.
